Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and with it, being on a Saturday, this year Restaurants will book up early. So if eating out is what you are planning get those reservations in before too late.

Ideas

Create your own romantic movie night complete with popcorn and candles.

Fill a box full of things that are special, and that you love about your special someone (ie. pictures, past notes (they have given you)

Kid’s Valentine Craft

Who doesn’t like getting red roses for Valentine’s Day? Make this fun craft for your Mom and she will love and cherish it.

Be sure to visit all of our Valentine’s Day crafts and main Valentine’s Day index.
What you’ll need:

* 1 ½ green chenille stems (per flower)
* Red craft foam
* Scissors
* White craft glue or hot glue gun

How to make it:

1. Set aside the ½ chenille stem for a later step. Take the full chenille stem and bend it in half. Starting at the bent end, twist the chenille stem around itself all the way up. When you reach the end trim it to make it even if needed.
2. Cut out 1” tear drop shapes from the red foam, you will need 7 of these.
3. Cut out ¾” tear drop shapes from the red foam, you will need 3 of these.
4. Lay a 1” tear drop on the table, point side down. Glue the open end of the twisted chenille stem to the red tear drop petal.
5. Glue a second tear drop behind the first tear drop (point side down), most of the tear drop in back will be visible. Repeat on the other side. Repeat again on each side, gluing them in a curved fashion (similar to a half circle). When you are done there should be one petal in the middle and 3 on each side.
6. Glue one of the smaller tear drop petals on top of the green chenille stem. Glue the other two smaller petals overlapping the first one, point side down.
7. Once these are all dry, bend and curve the foam petals to join both rounded sides together to form the flower. Glue in place and hold until dry, hot glue comes in handy here.
8. Use the ½ chenille stem to bend the leaves into shape and twist around the stem.

Tips:

* Craft foam can be purchased in precut shapes or in sheets.
* If using a hot glue gun, be sure to get a low temp one and follow the instructions carefully.
* Make a bouquet of these roses and place in a decorated baby food jar!

Things that attract you to that person (smile) or things they do to make you laugh (phrases that they use) memories of past dates you have had.

These things could all be written out on post its. Add in their favorite chocolates, perfumes/colognes or go more practical with items that are useful to them shampoos, body washes and so forth.

You could also add in your own personal touch by putting in free massages by you or time alone and so forth be inventive have fun and let your special person know that they are special.

This will create an amazing Easter Egg pinata for the kids that won’t break with a few hits like you would expect from a pinata you purchase in the store. Perfect for any easter event, the kids will love it! (and maybe some of the adults)
Materials

2 small bottles of glue (roughly 200 ml each)

a balloon

newspaper

2 cups of flour

3 cups of warm water

paints to decorate it

Directions

Blow balloon up to desired size and tie it closed

Mix one bottle of glue with one cup of flour, and with 2 cups of warm water

Cut newspaper into squares (roughly 2×2)

Dip papper into glue solution and apply on balloon

Continue applying paper until you have 2 to 3 layers applied on the balloon

Let this dry for approx. 24 hours

Mix up a second batch of the glue solution

Apply another 2 to 3 layers of paper again

Let it dry another 24 hours

Cut the bottom of the balloon (where the tie is located) 3/4 of the way (DO NOT cut it completely off). You want the opening to be roughly the diameter of a fist

Place candy, toys, etc inside the pinata

Close bottom up, and reseal it with the paper and glue solution

Let dry 24 hours

Paint and decorate it to your hearts content

Sit back and enjoy the fun that will surely commence!

Note: You can mix the solution all at once if you have a quality sealable container that won’t let it dry up.
